One Red Drawing Pin

Below is a picture of a drawing pin...

A red drawing pin!

The red drawing pin is my first trade.

I've thought long and hard about what my first trade could be, and this is it. We discovered each other this morning on the bedroom floor, and now I am starting my journey...

Here's how I want it to work:

This red drawing pin is currently sitting on my desk next to my computer.

I want to trade this drawing pin with you for something bigger or better, maybe a pen, a stapler, or maybe even a preline surface cleaner. I was just looking around the web, and one of these would be great... :) http://www.cultpens.com/acatalog/Uni_Pin_Drawing_Pen.html#a5330 !

Either way, I want to make a series of continued swaps and exchanges until I get myself something of far greater value.

That may be an object, a promise for something in exchange, or maybe, just maybe this item will not be an item at all, but infact an experience, a journey.

Who knows? Wherever this will take me it must start at the begining.... So.... Here's the drawing pin!

If you have something bigger or better that you would like to exchange for my red drawing pin, let me know by replying to this blog post or better still, emailing me at justin@onereddrawingpin.com

I'm going to do this for 1 year and then see what I have. Thanks for your help in starting my journey!

I hope to trade with you soon!!!

Justin

PS. I'm near southampton in Hampshire, England... So I would hope these early trades could start local, and I will build all the trades into my regular travel program and if you promise to make the trade, I will visit you personally to trade.

And most importantly, this, is going to be fun!

Hi Joe,

Your offer of a cowboy hat sounds really interesting. Do you have a picture of it that you can send on email to justin@onereddrawingpin.com ?

I also need your email or blog account to reply to... You can call me also on the number at the top of this page.

If we make the exchange, what do you plan to do with the drawing pin?

Many thanks,

Justin

Justin,

I Propose to swap your drawing pin for a second hand (Mens) suspension Mountain bike.
With the drawing pin, i propose to rent out to charity on a monthly basis, and propose you compile a "Me & the Red Pin" photo gallery
on you blog.
When the journey is over & you have an item of your satisfaction, i'd like to auction the by now famous original red pin on ebay for charity!

How's that sound!

PS - I live in C/Ford Too!

Hi Before 40!

I think that sounds like a pretty cool trade.  It kind of starts adding value to the items and the pin travels would also make a good addition to the site.

I’ve had a few more offers come in on email, so am trying to make a decision on which way to go, but I guess I could trade up pretty easily from a mountain bike.

It would provide transport to the next trade as well!

Do you have a picture of the bike so I can consider your offer some more?

Where are you in CF as well?

J
